Dragon Fyre Imports – Exact Tea Cup Pictured
This dramatic tea bowl by Daqi features two remarkably different glaze worlds joined in a single piece. The interior glows in deep iron red, burnt orange, and dark burgundy, crossed by branching black formations that spread outward from the center like the scales and silhouette of a sleeping dragon. Concentric throwing lines remain visible beneath the glossy glaze, adding movement and depth throughout the broad bowl.
Around the exterior, the fiery interior gives way to a completely different palette. Warm ivory descends through pale turquoise into brilliant cobalt blue, with scattered copper and gold-colored markings floating across the surface like distant islands. The rounded body and gently irregular rim preserve the character of the handmade form, while the deep blue base bears Daqi’s distinctive gold maker’s seal. Bold yet beautifully balanced, this cup offers a new composition from every viewing angle.
