This distinctive small cola cup features a highly varied oil-drop glaze arranged in winding horizontal bands. Bronze, copper, cream, and pale gold formations travel around the glossy black body, while dark green channels twist between them like a sleeping dragon curled around the cup. The tall, gently irregular form adds to its handmade character and provides a different drinking experience from a traditional open tea bowl.
Under strong light, the glaze reveals a hidden layer of color. The dark channels become rich jade green while the metallic oil drops develop silvery highlights, soft pinks, and subtle iridescence. The pattern continues inside the cup in broad circular bands, creating a dramatic view all the way to the dark center. Finished with an exposed iron-rich clay foot bearing the artist’s handwritten signature, this compact cup offers an unusually complex glaze within a comfortable everyday form.
