The piece that began our appreciation for master-crafted Chinese tea ware, this was the very first master cup selected for the Dragon Fyre Imports collection.
Its softly squared form features gently rounded corners and a low foot, creating an organic silhouette that sets it apart from a traditional round tea bowl. A glossy olive-green glaze covers the piece, revealing subtle moss, brown, and golden tones as the light moves across its surface. Fine crackle lines spread naturally throughout the glaze, adding remarkable depth beneath the smooth finish.
Inside, the green gradually darkens before opening into a vivid pool of deep blue and turquoise at the center—like a hidden spring surrounded by moss-covered stone. A narrow line of blue also appears near the unglazed foot, offering another glimpse of the glaze’s movement during firing.
Its history makes this bowl personally significant, but its striking glaze, unusual shape, and master craftsmanship make it worthy of any collection.
