Dragon Fyre Imports – Exact Tea Cup Pictured
This beautiful Jian Zhan tea cup combines a traditional piekou (Pe - A - Ko) form with a richly iridescent purple oil-drop glaze. Its rounded body rises into a gently flared mouth, creating an elegant profile and a comfortable drinking rim. In ordinary light, the cup appears predominantly black and deep wine-purple, with broad metallic formations visible across the interior and exterior.
Under strong light, the hidden colors come alive. Lavender, violet, rose-gold, and flashes of electric blue emerge from the dark glaze, while pale turquoise channels form a glowing network between the larger oil-drop patterns. Inside, the formations radiate around a dark central pool like an illuminated flower or distant constellation. The exterior carries the same pattern down toward the exposed iron-rich clay foot, which bears the maker’s impressed seal.
