This generously sized tea bowl features rounded oil-drop formations suspended within a deep purple-black glaze. In ordinary light, the pattern appears in subdued bronze, violet and midnight-blue tones beneath a warm golden-brown rim.
Under direct light, the glaze comes alive with electric blue, vivid purple, magenta and metallic gold. Several small kiln tears formed along the lower exterior where the glaze flowed and gathered during firing, adding natural character to this one-of-a-kind piece.
